Chennai: The Chennai Pathivuthurai Paniyalargal Nala Vazhvu Sangam, a registered welfare organisation championing the cause of the physically and mentally challenged, is organising a charity show in the city. In coordination with Saranalaya, a charitable trust, the sangam will organise a music show by 7Swarangal.
Fund utilisation
The proceeds of the programme will go towards funds for running a residential home for the destitute, mentally challenged and spastic girl children, formation of a computer centre for providing jobs for the physically challenged and sponsoring artificial limbs to physically challenged persons.
Performances
This is the seventh charity show. The programme includes dance performances by Kutti and music by Unni Menon and Mahathi at the Kamarajar Hall on Saturday. The sangam general secretary G. Sethukumari says that last year, it conducted the weddings of four blind persons. "Similarly, we extend help to many other physically challenged persons."
