Model test

Bt cotton row: Haryana backs State
HYDERABAD:
The Haryana Government has assured all assistance to the State in getting a just deal for farmers, following a complaint filed by the Government before the MRTP Commission against high prices of Bt cotton charged by Mahyco Monsanto Biotech India and others. Harmohinder Singh Chatha, Haryana's Minister for Agriculture wrote to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Raghuveera Reddy agreeing with him that the supplier companies had no moral right to charge higher price from farmers. - Special Correspondent

Two workers -- Bommidi Ramachandra Rao and Battina Arjanna -- from Melluru village of Biccavolu mandal were buried alive under a sand heap when the sand laden lorry in which they were travelling overturned on the Godavari bank near Kotipalli on Wednesday. - Correspondent
Farm worker ends life
Kakinada:
A farm worker, Dangeti Ramana, reportedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide mixed with arrack at his house in Sarpavaram on the town outskirts on Wednesday. Sarpavaram police attributed his action to domestic problems. - Correspondent
Three held
ADILABAD:
Adilabad town police on Wednesday arrested three persons on the charge of stealing car stereos, CD and VCD players in the last six months. They recovered stolen property worth about Rs. 3 lakhs. - Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD:
All India Radio, Hyderabad, will broadcast a special programme on `Badi Bata' on June 1 on its `A' channel. The programme, featuring messages by Chief Minister Y.S. Panel's term extended
HYDERABAD:
The Government has extended the term of the committee headed by Municipal Administration Minister Koneru Ranga Rao to effectively implement the land distribution programme in the State till December 31. Tiger skins seized
KHAMMAM:
Officials of the wild life protection wing seized two tiger skins in Dabbanuthula Kotthur village of Dummugudem mandal on Wednesday. They arrested a school teacher in connection with the seizure. According to reports, a team of officials raided the house of one Payam Chandraiah and unearthed two tiger skins. Chandraiah is still at large. - Staff Reporter
