Doctor ends life

BANGALORE: A 31-year-old woman working as a doctor at the Command Hospital on Airport Road, committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Ulsoor police station limits on Monday night.

The police gave her name as Shoba, a resident of Majors' Quarters in Ulsoor. The reason behind the suicide is not known, the police said. The Ulsoor police have registered a case.

Woman, son drown

A watchman's three-year-old son and his wife drowned in a sump in Bommasandra Industrial Area in Hebbugodi police station limits on Monday.

The police gave their names as Sreenivasa (3) and Girijamma (32). The watchman, Venkatesh, who returned home from work on Monday evening found the two bodies floating in the sump near their house, situated in a godown compound.

The police suspect that Girijamma could have drowned while saving her son who fell into the sump.

The Hebbugodi police have registered a case.
