BANGALORE: The new Rajarajeshwarinagar police station will start functioning from Thursday. Certain areas under the jurisdiction of Byatarayanapura, Girinagar and Kengeri police stations will come under the limits of the new police station. According to a notification, the New Tharagupet police station in South division has been closed and its staff will now be attached to the Rajarajeshwarinagar police station in West division, which has been set up at CA site No. 3, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Road, 4th Stage, 60 Feet Road, BEML Layout. The areas that will come under the jurisdiction of the new police station are: Rajarajeshwarinagar, BEML Layout, Ideal Home Layout, Kenchenahalli, Gattagere and Halagevaderahalli (from Byatarayanapura police station limits), Javarayyana Doddi and Bangarappanagar (from Girinagar police station limits) and Pattanagere, Nagarathnamma Garden, 2nd Stage, BHEL Layout, Indo-American Farm, Kala Farm, Channasandra and Sreenivasapura (from Kengeri police station limits). As the New Tharagupet police station has been closed, the areas that were under its jurisdiction have been allotted to the Central, Chamarajpet and Cottonpet police stations with effect from June 1. These are New Tharagupet I, II, III, and IV Main, I, II, III and IV Cross and Albert Victor Road (Central police station limits), T.C.M Royan Circle, Sultan Road.
