Final CWC clearance

to six State projects

HYDERABAD: The Central Water Commission on Friday gave its final clearance to six projects in the State - Tadipudi, Pushkaram, Gollavagu, Peddavavu, Rallavagu and Muttadivagu.

The meeting considered a total of 20 projects belonging to different States.

The meeting kept on hold the clearance to two other projects - Neelwai and Musurumalli, for want of reports by the Tribal Advisory Council. The six cleared projects will serve an ayacut of 3.7 lakh acres in different districts. — Special Correspondent

LAWCET-2006 today

VISAKHAPATNAM: Arrangements have been made for the conduct of LAWCET-2006 on Saturday. The test for admission into the three-year course would be held from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and for the five-year course from 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The test is being held at 15 centres in the State.

Sangareddy: A family feud among three brothers in Medak led to the murder of the younger one, his wife and young son. The deceased Edulapalli Venkatramulu, 36, had strained relation with his brothers Beerappa and Mallaiah regarding some property matters.

Both the accused surrendered before the Medak town police on Friday. — Staff Reporter

KARIMNAGAR: Unable to undergo the mental agony following the medical reports stating that the family had acquired the dreaded AIDS disease, a couple committed suicide along with their son by jumping into a well in Ippalapalli village of Veenavanka mandal on Friday early hours.

The deceased have been identified as B. Srinivas, 30, his wife, B. Vijaya, 28, and their son, Ajay, 3. — Staff Reporter

KADAPA: Former Proddatur municipal councillor and Congress leader Budda Bhadra Reddy (45) and his son B. Vikranth Reddy (16) were hacked to death and the former's father B. HYDERABAD: Six Marxist-Leninist organisations have demanded the dismissal of Panchayat Raj Minister J.C.Diwakar Reddy for his alleged rude behaviour with a TV channel reporter.

Leaders of IFTU, AIKMS, PDSU, PYL, POW and Arunodaya in a statement on Friday condemned the minister's behaviour and the action of his supporters in allegedly forcing the reporter to move out of the venue at a Government function.
