New batch of recruits join Maratha Light Infantry

Best performers presented medals

Belgaum: An impressive attestation parade was conducted by the new recruits of Group 03/2005 at the city-based Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC) here on Saturday.

Col. M.A.D'Souza, Officiating Commandant, MLIRC, reviewed the parade in the presence of senior officials and invited guests.

Recruit Dhumal Lalit Kumar commanded the parade along with Major K.R.R. Singh as the Parade Adjutant. Medals were given away to best performers. Gaikwad Tajaji won the Namdev Jadhav medal for Best Performance in Firing, Dhumal Lalit won Keshav Rao Talekar Medal for Best in Drill, Somnath Chavan won Col. N.J. Nair Medal for Best in Field Craft and Sucha Memorial Cup for Best in Outdoor Training.

The Hussainiwala Company commanded by Lt. Col. Manoj Kumar won the Group Banner for Best Overall Performance.
