THE CENTRE for Distance Learning at Alliance Business School has designed a contemporary Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Global Management (EPGDGM) programme primarily targeted towards working professionals. The diploma is an accelerated, self-paced programme for working executives. "The programme helps graduates understand contemporary theories and real life applications, think critically complex issues of global business and develop international business plans, thereby enhancing their career opportunities and marketability in the global work place," said a school official. Alliance Business School is part of the Alliance Group of Institutions founded 10 years ago in Bangalore by a group of academics and industry leaders, who are graduates of the Indian Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, and some top universities in the United States. Incidentally, Alliance is accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), a premier international accreditation body for business management programmes.
Job fair
SAPTHAGIRI COLLEGE of Engineering has organised "Job fair 2006," a placement fest on June 9 and 10 at its premises. More than 30 national and multinational companies will be participating in the fair. According to the college officials, Sapthagiri has created a tailor-made situation to the companies as well as the job aspirants because of wide choice mutually available. "The effort of bidding farewell to students with a secure future in their hands is put through by bringing in more companies to the campus for recruiting meritorious students," the officials said. Over 20,000 candidates were expected to take part in this event. Counselling skills
BANGALORE UNIVERSITY'S Centre for Psychological Counselling, attached to its Department of Psychology, has organised a six-day training programme for undergraduate college teachers from June 19 to 24. The training programme will be titled "Enriching quality of life and counselling skills in undergraduate college teachers." The target group includes teachers of undergraduate colleges with at least five years of experience in teaching. Their respective colleges could depute teachers to attend the training programme.
