Belgaum: All eyes are on the much-awaited report on alleged large-scale financial irregularities in flood relief works in Belgaum district since August last, which is likely to be submitted to the State Government in a day or two. Highly placed sources in the State Secretariat told The Hindu on Friday that the report would be submitted to the Revenue Secretary for further observations. The Government ordered a thorough inquiry in the first week of April following allegations of financial irregularities in distribution of compensation and flood relief works in different parts of the district. The Government appointed G.S. Gurusiddaiah, Under-secretary, Department of Revenue, and another official, V.S. Inamdar, of the same department as inquiry officers to look into the alleged irregularities. They conducted the inquiry in Belgaum from April 5 to 10.
