BANGALORE: The Sanjaynagar police caught three men and recovered Rs. 2,700 in cash from them. The three had robbed a lorry driver of the cash in Hebbal police station limits around 11 p.m. on Sunday. The police said the three came in a van, smashed the windscreens of the lorry that was parked at Bhadrappa Layout. They got into the lorry, which had a Haryana registration number, and robbed the driver Bhagwan (25) of the cash. After Bhagwan of Faridabad lodged a complaint with the Hebbal police around midnight, a message was flashed on the wireless. The police put up barricades as part of the search for the van. Around 1.15 a.m. on Monday, the Sanjaynagar police intercepted the van near Bhoopasandra and arrested the three. Their names were given as John (28), Kumar (23) and Manjunath (23), all residents of Nagashettyhalli. Commissioner of Police Ajai Kumar Singh has appreciated the work done by the Sanjaynagar police constables, Thammanna and Siddalinga Murthy, who made the arrest.
