Rupee steady against dollar

The rupee was steady against the dollar on Thursday and traded in a narrow range due to lack of any buying or selling interest. Towards the close of trade, some corporates were seen buying dollars, which pushed the rupee lower to end almost unchanged. The rupee opened at 45.92/93 and touched a high of 45.89 before ending at 45.98, almost at the same levels as the previous close of 45.98/99. In the forward premia market, the six-month premia closed at 0.89 per cent (0.86 per cent) and the one-year at 1.07 per cent (1.04 per cent).
