Bangalore: Governor T.N. Chaturvedi on Thursday inaugurated an Income Tax help centre set up on the premises of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI). The centre will function from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on working days from June 16 to August 14 and then from March 1 to 31, 2007. Retired officers from the Income Tax Department will man the help centre. Manju Madhavan, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Bangalore-I, said the aim of the help centre is to have more people voluntarily come forward to pay taxes.
