Back Reliance Comm's Tamil poetry contest Our Bureau
Chennai , June 19 Reliance Communications on Monday announced a Tamil poetry contest `Kavithai Solungal.' Hosted by lyricist Mr P. Vijay, the contest would require the subscriber to enter the poetry zone on Reliance Mobile World's voice portal and record his or her poem along with the name and contact details for adjudication, according to Mr V.G. Somasekhar, Circle Chief Executive Officer - Tamil Nadu, Reliance Communications. The contest would open on June 20 and prizes to be won include two Singapore tour packages, two LG 29 inch televisions and books of Mr Vijay. Mr Vijay would be judging the entries. Mr Somasekhar told the press that the charges for accessing the portal are Rs 6 per minute. He said that the service would be available for the 15 lakh Reliance subscribers in Tamil Nadu as well as to subscribers in the rest of the country. A non-Reliance subscriber can also enter the contest through a Reliance phone, he said. Mr Vijay said that the theme for the poetry is `nambikkai,' or belief, but he would also consider poems outside of this theme. As far as the structure is concerned, there are no restrictions, he added.
