Seiko Epson develops A6-size paper

CHENNAI: Seiko Epson Corporation (Epson) has developed A6-size electronic paper using a plastic substrate. According to a release, the new product has been drawn on Epson's original `Suftal*1' technology. The new electronic paper achieves Quad-XGA resolution (1536 x 2048 pixels).

Epson has long been working to develop and manufacture low power consumption, space-saving electronic devices. The company's research and development has focused on thin, light and flexible devices that can be reshaped as needed.

The release says Epson's new electronic paper draws on a number of original Epson technologies and has a range of features suited to portable displays such as world's highest resolution, high contrast guaranteeing high-quality display, narrow border and simple interface, low power consumption and larger screen.
