NEW DELHI: CeBIT, the world renowned trade fair, will enter India in partnership with Infocom, a Nasscom-Business World joint venture for holding an IT fair in Kolkata in December. "With a special European pavilion at the exhibition, the partnership will bring in more participation from European companies especially small and medium scale companies, in Infocom 2006,'' said CeBIT organiser Eberhard Roloff, while speaking to reporters during the announcement of the partnership on Wednesday. Hailing the association with CeBIT as a landmark development and indicator of the global crossover for Infocom, National Association for Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) President Kiran Karnik said, "With the information technology (IT) industry clocking revenues of $29.6 billion in 2006, the Indian story is promising and we are certain of the global footprints this event will garner going forward.'' CeBIT, organised by Hannover, Germany-based Deutsche Messe AG since 1986, has grown to become the largest trade fair in the world. UNI
