Back Chidambaram meeting deferred

New Delhi, June 22

The Finance Minister Mr P. Chidambaram's tête-à-tête with captains of industry scheduled for June 28 now stands postponed by a week. Informed sources said that the meeting would now be held on July 5. The June 28 meeting had been convened for the Finance Minister to respond to the suggestions of apex industry associations on the policy actions needed for achieving 12 per cent annual growth in manufacturing sector.

As against the earlier focus area of achieving 12 per cent manufacturing sector growth, industry sources said that the July 5 meeting would delve on a broader theme of achieving 12 per cent industrial growth.
