NEW DELHI: A 50-member Indian team will participate in the 12th Asian junior athletics championship to be held in Macau, China, from July 15 to 18. The Athletics Association of India (AAI) Selection Committee met here on Tuesday before the team was finalised. The selected athletes, 27 men and 23 women, however, will have to undergo a confirmatory trial on July 6 and 7 at the Nehru Stadium here. Those who fail to show good performance may be excluded from the team, the AFI said in a release on Thursday.
