Medical college to get a knowledge centre

Alumni to chip in with funds; mega plans for golden jubilee fest

    KURNOOL: The Old Students Association of Kurnool Medical College, which will celebrate its golden jubilee next year, has proposed to set up a knowledge centre at a cost of Rs 2.5 crores. The amount will be raised from the college alumni and a seminar hall and digital library will be constructed.

    The association members met here under the chairmanship of Y. Satyanarayana on Saturday to discuss the arrangements for the celebrations and constitute a Celebrations Committee. Dr. Y. Satyanarayana was named the president of the Celebrations Panel while Neurosurgeon W. Sitaram was named the treasurer.

    It was decided to approach the Government for funds to construct the new outpatient block and diagnostic centre in the General Hospital. The panel also planned to hold a Continuing Medical Education Programme (CME) during the celebrations in important disciplines utilising the expertise of eminent alumni across the globe.
