Ban on carrying firearms

KURNOOL: Collector M. Dana Kishore prohibited license holders of firearms from carrying the weapons until the local bodies elections are complete, according to a statement here.

Also, those who were bailed out in criminal cases, against whom arrest warrants were pending and those with criminal history were asked to surrender the weapons in the police stations.

The orders would be in force till one week after the results were declared.
