Gopala Gowda takes charge as Legal Services Authority chairman

Need seen to create more legal awareness among the people

Bangalore: V. Gopala Gowda, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, took charge as Executive Chairman of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) here on Thursday.

He told presspersons after assuming charge that he would continue the good work done by his predecessors in providing justice to the common people.

Mr. Gopala Gowda said there was a need to create more legal awareness among the people and this was possible only with the cooperation of the people and also the members of the KSLSA.

P. Vishwanath Shetty, former KSLSA Executive Chairman, said bringing in social equality and social changes should be the duty of the organisation.

K.L. Manjunath, judge of the High Court, said the KSLSA had functioned well in the past and hoped that the good work by the organisation would continue under the chairmanship of Mr. Gopala Gowda.
