BANGALORE: A worker was killed and four were injured when the bearing of a cable-stayed elevator snapped at a construction site in the Hennur police station limits on Thursday. The victims were shifting sand to a higher floor when the accident took place. The dead, Subramani (24), was a native of Kundapura. Among the injured were Kumar, Rajesh and Ramesh. One of them was shifted to NIMHANS while the others were taken to a private hospital. The victims were working on a four-storeyed apartment building nearing completion in HRBR Layout 4th Stage. The Hennur police have taken up a case in connection with the incident. Investigation is under way.
