Power shutdown today

There will no power supply in parts of the city between 10.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday owing to maintenance work in Banaswadi MUSS at E5 sub-division. The affected areas include Kacharakanahalli, Hennur Main Road, HRBR 2nd and 3rd blocks, Ramaiah Layout, Nagadevi industrial area, Jalavayu Vihar, Kammanahalli Main Road and surrounding areas. There will be no power supply between 10.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. the same day in Ramamurthy Nagar Main Road, Ramamurthy Nagar police station, Dasappa Layout, G.M. Reddy Layout, Hoysalanagar, Sadanandnagar, Krishnaiahna Palya, ITI Colony, Ambedkar Nagar, Kasturinagar, Vijinapura and surrounding areas.

BSNL open house sessions tomorrow

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), Bangalore Telecom District, will organise open house sessions at all the offices of Area Managers and Deputy General Manager (Rural) at 10 a.m. on Saturday. BSNL customers can get their grievances redressed and submit their suggestions to improve BSNL service.

Eyes donated

About 50 persons of Akhila Karnataka Dr. Ambedkar Yuvashakthi Sangha on Wednesday donated their eyes to Narayana Nethralaya. They donated their eyes at a function to inaugurate the sangha held at Ambedkar Bhavan. President of the sangha M. Murthy said the sangha would mobilise people to donate their eyes.

Free eye camp

Vittala International Institute of Ophthalmology, supported by Helpage India and Latter Day Saints Charities, will conduct a free eye screening and cataract camp on Friday at Turuvekere, Tumkur district. Elected

P.S. Srikanta Dutta has been elected president and K.V. Rajendra Kumar has been elected vice-president of Peenya Industrial Association. The other office-bearers of the association are S.M. Hussain, Ajit R. Kunte, S. Balasubramanyam and K.B. Arasappa. All were elected unanimously in the annual general meeting held on June 24.
