City of Rosario Mayor meets Mumtaz Begum

BANGALORE: Roberto Milguel Lifschitz, Mayor of the Municipal Government of the City of Rosario, Argentina, met Bangalore Mayor Mumtaz Begum here on Thursday to exchange ideas pertaining to various aspects of city development.

Mr. Roberto, who invited Ms. Begum to City of Rosario, said the Municipal Government of the City of Rosario was keen on entering into an agreement with the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) to foster development, equality and welfare for the people of the two cities.

Friendship

"We are keen on keeping relations of friendship, unity and fraternity with Bangalore. We want to enter into an agreement with Bangalore Mahanagara Palike for exchanging ideas in the fields of technology, productive training and academic relations," Mr. Roberto said.

Response

Responding to Mr. Roberto's proposal, Ms. Begum said she would discuss the matter with her colleagues in the BMP Council. "We can chalk out specific issues and areas of common interest where ideas can be exchanged. I will discuss this with my colleagues in the Council and get back to you," she told Mr. Roberto.

Deputy Mayor M. Lakshminarayana and the city corporation officials were, among others, present.
