Engineer, accountant arrested

BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police on Wednesday arrested two persons for allegedly accepting money for official favours.

Muniraju, assistant executive engineer, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited, Kunigal, was found accepting Rs. 2,000 from Mohinuddin for giving electricity connection. The Tumkur Lokayukta police produced him before a Sessions judge, who remanded the official to judicial custody.

The Shimoga Lokayukta police arrested Purushotham, a village accountant of Togarsi Gram Panchayat, while he was allegedly accepting Rs. 300 for issuing a death certificate.
