Back Airtel cuts roaming rates

Airtel on Friday announced that it had reduced roaming rates for its post-paid customers in Kerala. Airtel post-paid customers in Kerala can now make or receive calls at Rs 2 per minute when they visit Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, including Chennai. These rates will be automatically acceptable and no changes in plans are required to avail this reduced rate, a release from the company said. Airtel also waived off international roaming deposits for selected customers till August 31. The selection of the customers will be based on their age on Airtel network and past bill payment records. "We are happy to offer these reduced roaming rates to our post-paid customers in Kerala. A lot of our customers travel to the southern States and this offer will provide them with the incentive to make more calls while they are roaming," Mr Ramgopal Vallath, COO of Airtel Kerala, said.
