College girl dies of burn injuries
The accident took place when Nimisha Tiwari, a resident of Madhur Apartment, was in the kitchen. The fire broke out apparently due to a gas leak, due to which she suffered severe burns and was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. Nimisha's father is a contractor, while her mother is a doctor at a government research centre.
Bank cashier commits suicide
According to the police, Anil hanged himself from the ceiling when his wife was busy cooking food in the kitchen. His two daughters were at school. Enquiries revealed that Anil was upset for the past two days. Inquest proceedings into the matter have been initiated.
Three held for advocate's murder
Acting on a tip-off that some criminals would assemble near Tughlakabad Fort to plan a robbery, the police laid a trap and arrested three of them. They were identified as Dwarkadheesh, Mathura Prasad and Rahu. During interrogation, Dwarkadheesh allegedly disclosed that he was an Uttar Pradesh police constable and was involved in the murder of Satya Prakash Gautam on March 17. He along with five others allegedly bludgeoned him to death.
One held in robbery case
The incident took place on June 4 when four men entered the office of Sukhbir Sharan Aggarwal and robbed him of the cash. During investigations, the police came across evidence suggesting involvement of two criminals named Vikas Yadav and Mukesh. Subsequently, the police arrested Vikas. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to his involvement in the case. He further disclosed that he was initiated into the world of crime in 1998 when he committed a dacoity at Darbhanga in Bihar along with his accomplices. He remained in jail for three months, after which he allegedly murdered a young man. Later, he shifted to Delhi and came in contact with one Firoze who introduced him to one Javed, with him he began committing robberies. According to the police, Vikas and his accomplices committed at least seven robberies in 2003 and 2004. The police have identified his other gang members and launched a hunt for them in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.
