NATA mandatory for students seeking admission to private colleges offering architecture course

HYDERABAD: Girls bagged the top three ranks in the Planning and Architecture Common Entrance Test-2006, results of which were released by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Vice-Chancellor K. Raja Gopal here on Monday.

The examination was conducted by JNTU on behalf of the State Council for Higher Education on May 29 for admission to 95 B.Arch seats and 40 B.Plan seats in Government aided colleges of the State offering a degree in architecture.

The JNTU School of Planning and Architecture and Department of Architecture, Andhra University, come under the purview of PACET -2006, said its Convenor and Director, JNTU School of Planning and Architecture, Padmavathi Pervar.

While V.Varenya, S.Devaki Rani and M.Dhruvsri are the top three rankers in architecture, A.Sneha Latha Reddy, P.Swetha Bindu and V.M.Deepika Reddy bagged the top ranks in planning. Counselling would be held after the second week of August and classes would commence from September I, said the Vice-Chancellor.

For admission to unaided and private colleges offering architecture course, the Council of Architecture, New Delhi, has made it mandatory from this year that students qualify in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).
