MADURAI: Movie portals organising chat with matinee idols is an usual phenomenon.

Going one step ahead, galatta.com, a portal that has been working closely with the entertainment industry over the years, has launched `voice and video' chat to give a visual treat to fans. All that you need to catch the stars live is a Yahoo id, webcam, microphone and speakers.

On July 7, the portal organised its maiden `voice and video' chat with Keerthi Chawla, newcomer to the film industry. The actor answered a volley of questions from fans, who logged in from different places during the hour-long chat. Galatta.com promises to bring in more stars live in the weeks to come.
