Aditya Patel comes up trumps

Sports Reporter

Coimbatore: Aditya Patel of Chennai emerged the senior category winner in the third leg of the JK Tyre Rotax Mojo Max Indian karting challenge at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam, near here, on Sunday.

It was Hyderabad boys Akhil Khuslani and Aditya Akkineni who got off to a flying start. They challenged each other for a good 15 laps, but the former managed to keep the latter at bay for most part of the race.

Midway through, Akkineni applied the pressure from the outside and tried to squeeze upfront but Akhil, in a bit of haste, nudged into Akkineni and blew his chances. Meanwhile, Aditya Patel made the most of the chance to take the chequered flag in style.

Karan Goenka of Kolkata had no problems in the junior category.
