Khaleels Pride wins main event

HYDERABAD: Mr. L. D'Silva's Khaleels Pride (A. Imran Khan up) won the Ratanlal Gupta Memorial Cup, the chief event of the races held here on Monday (July 17). The winner is trained by L. D'Silva.

Fines & suspensions: In the Welcome Plate (Div. II), jockey Sk. Farookh (Star Is Reborn) was fined Rs. 2,000 for shifting in while passing the 1000 metres forcing in Chief De Mission (Suraj Narredu) who in turn shifted in causing interference to Don Vinton (A. Imran Khan).

In the C.R. Bhoopal Memorial Cup (Cat. II), jockey D. Singh (Arnage) was fined Rs. 3,000 for coming in sharply while passing the 1000 metres causing Adams Madame (Suraj Narredu), racing on the inside to stumble, forcing Hunting Hawk (Qazafi) to check and lose position.

In the Act In Time Plate (Cat. III), the stewards suspended jockey Lawrence (Ambiens) from riding in races with effect from July 27, 2006 to Aug. 13, 2006, both days inclusive, for failing to persevere with his mount in the straight. Permitted to ride work.

In the same race, jockey Uday Kiran (Ballistic) was fined Rs. 2,000 for not making sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in, while approaching the 600 metres, into Math Mario (D. Singh) who in turn shifted in casing interference to Gun Rock (Chary) and then shifted in again about 300 meters causing interference to Math Mario (D. Singh).

In the Ratanlal Gupta Memorial Cup (Cat. I), jockey N. Rawal (Easy Rider) was fined Rs. 1,000 for shifting in. 100 metres after the start, causing interference to Greyhound (Suraj Narredu).

In the Fond Hope Plate (Cat. III), jockey R.B. Shinde (Freak Fantasy) was fined Rs. 1,000 for shifting in, 100 metres after the start, and forcing London Eye (Chary) who in turn shifted in causing interference to Royal Assembly (Ravi Shankar).
