Mixed bag for St. Joseph's BHS

BANGALORE: St. Joseph's Boys High School met with mixed luck in the inter-school hockey tournament, which concluded at the KSHA Stadium on Monday. St. Joseph's won the Father Eric Vaz Memorial tournament for juniors with a 2-0 victory over Frank Anthony Public School. Trishul (14th) and Nayan Pinto (20th) scored for SJBHS.

In the Centenary Shield for seniors, St. Germain's Boys High School emerged winner, defeating host St. Joseph's BHS 4-1 via tie-breaker. The two sides had played a 1-1 draw in regulation time with Carl Britto (28th) scoring for St. Germain's and Alfred Franklin (48th) equalising for St. Joseph's.

St. Germain's scored off all three attempts in the tie-breaker with Kuttappa, Carl Britto and Shivanankari being on target. St. Germains' goalkeeper Arun Kumar took the centrestage saving St. Joseph's penalties.

Former Olympian C.S. Poonacha gave away the trophies.
