HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has directed the officials of the Information Technology Department to expedite the setting up of at least 2,000 Rajiv Internet Village Centres by the end of the current year. The Chief Minister who reviewed the activities of the AP Technology Services Limited and Commissionerate of Electronically Deliverable Services (EDS) with senior officials on Monday wanted them to bring all the service delivery channels under e-Seva, Rajiv Internet Village Centres and RSDPs under a single programme for their effective functioning. IT Secretary K. Ratna Prabha told Dr. Reddy that the issues relating to tying of optic fibre cables to the AP Transco poles had been sorted out following which the work on the AP Broadband project had gained momentum. APTS managing director K. Praveen Kumar said the organisation achieved a record turnover of Rs. 83 crores in the previous financial year and made a profit of Rs. 3.79 crores.
