Kochi, July 21

Catholic Syrian Bank has launched an international debit-cum-shopping card `Global Support,' in association with VISA International. At a function in Thrissur on Thursday, Mr V. Krishnamoorthy, Banking Ombudsman for Kerala, launched the card. Mr Santanu Mukharjee, Managing Director of VISA Consolidated Services, said the CSB cardholders can withdraw cash from any of the over one million VISA branded ATMs, located all over the world. They can also use the card at over 24 million merchant establishments worldwide.

Presiding over the function, Mr N.R. Achan, Chairman of the bank, said the card would reduce the risk of carrying large amounts of cash among the customers of the bank, and they need to withdraw cash from the nearest ATM only when necessary. It also enables instant transfer of funds from one cardholder to another, anywhere in India. The customers can also use the card on their trips abroad, subject to Government and RBI rules.
