Back `India can become global metals hub' Our Bureau
New Delhi , July 23 India has the capacity and the capability to become the global metals hub, given an enabling environment, said Dr V. Krishnamurthy, Chairman, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council (NMCC). While speaking at a meeting organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, he said: "We are endowed with natural resources such as iron ore, coal, and other minerals. We have the engineering and metallurgical talent." Speaking at the meeting, the Tata Steel's Managing Director, Mr B. Muthuraman, said that India could become the global metal hub after meeting all domestic requirements.
