Hyderabad , July 23 At least three Indian IT service providers TCS, Infosys Technologies and Satyam Computers are in race for a large ($80 million), multi-year outsourcing deal from the Australian airliner Qantas. There is immense speculation as to who has bagged the deal, as various reports in the Australian media point towards different companies. Reports have hinted at Satyam bagging the deal in a "neck-and-neck race with TCS". However, it will be a while before the announcement is made as to who has won the applications development deal. While some have pointed towards Satyam being a clear winner, piping arch rivals Infosys and TCS, others have indicated that Infosys has bagged the deal. In fact, another report said TCS has won the contract. According to the reports, the fact remains that a meeting was held last week to finalise the outsourcing partner for this deal, even as there were reports that some of the staff in the airliner were concerned about a big job moving out. Lately, Satyam Computer, TCS and Infosys Technologies have stepped up presence in Australia and have increased their headcount locally.
