Back Sixth Pay Commission
It has been reported that a three-member Commission will revise the pay and pension of all government employees. It appears that the implementation of the Commission's suggestions will take two-three years. Fixing the right pay and service conditions for employees should be a priority for a government that expects to work efficiently. The information age should have made it possible for the Government to revise the pay scales in a matter of months if not weeks. It is hoped that administrators and politicians will implement the Sixth Pay Commission before the end of 2006. V. S. Venkatavaradan Salem
