Nehru hockey schedule

NEW DELHI: The Nehru hockey men's tournament is back to its usual schedule and will be played at the Shivaji Stadium here from November 14 to 25.

The Nehru Hockey Tournament Society, on Monday, released the schedule of events for the coming season, which starts with the girls' tournament in October.

In 2005, the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) had barred any competition involving senior players till the Champions Trophy in Chennai was over.

This was apparently done to prepare the Indian team for the Champions Trophy, in which the host finished last.

The schedule: 13th Girls tournament: October 10-18. 24th Sub-junior tournament: October 18-31. 35th Junior tournament: October 31-November 13. 43rd Senior tournament: November 14-25.

14th Champion Colleges tournament: February 8-17, 2007.
