Here comes the CAT

The exam is on November 19

Common Admission Test (CAT) will be held on November 19 for admission to the postgraduate programmes of all Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode and Lucknow. Postgraduate programmes in Management (PGP) is available in all IIMs.

Bachelor's degree holders with 50 per cent marks are eligible for admission to PGP while SC/ STs/ Persons with Disability (PWD) categories require 45 per cent marks.

Those who are appearing for final Bachelor's degree examination are also eligible. PGP in Agri-Business Management (PGP-ABM) offered by IIM Ahmedabad and Lucknow requires UG or PG degree in agriculture sciences or in agriculture-related disciplines with 50 per cent marks (SC/ST/PWD requires 45 per cent marks) for admission.

Applications can be downloaded online. Sale of IIM - CAT bulletins are being made through UTI Bank branches and can be obtained up to August 17 on payment of Rs. 1,100 (Rs. 550 for SC/ ST category). IIM - CAT bulletin along with application can also obtained from the IIMs till August 21 by sending a crossed demand draft for Rs. 1,200 (Rs. 600 for SC/ ST with a copy of community certificate) drawn in favour of the respective IIM.

Request for bulletin should be accompanied by a cloth-lined self-addressed unstamped envelope of size 12" x 10". Last date of receipt of completed applications is September 9. Details can be obtained from ww.iimcal2006.com
