Nikhil Kanetkar loses

BANGALORE: India's Nikhil Kanetkar lost to Richard Vaughn of U.K. 20-22, 13-21 in the men's singles final of the Victoria Open badminton championship at Melbourne on Sunday, according to information reaching here on Monday.

The 27-year-old Kanetkar, who is ranked 163, has been playing a series of `A' grade events Down Under to improve his ranking.

He is scheduled to participate in the Auckland Open starting on Tuesday.
