Power shutdown

Power supply to Santhi Nagar, Gowri Nagar, Sanjeevayya Nagar and Journalists Colony will be suspended between 9 a.m. and noon on August 2 to undertake maintenance work on the Santhi Nagar feeder, according to an EPDCL press release on Monday.

Computer training

A computer training programme for journalists was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Bhavana Saxena here on Monday. The local unit of Journalists Association of AP (JAAP), in association with the Aptech Computers, arranged the programme. The training programme would be held for one week between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. every day. Evening classes were also being planned. State secretary of JAAP N. Nageswara Rao, managing director of Aptech J. Vishnuvardhana Rao and others were present.

DCI PRO retires

Manager (public relations) of Dredging Corporation of India K. Rama Rao retired on Monday after attaining the age of superannuation. He was with the DCI since 1977and during his career also looked after an overseas project in Saudi Arabia. Before joining DCI, Mr. Rama Rao was with the Visakhapatnam port and Hindustan Shipyard. During his long service as PRO, Mr. Rama Rao also headed the local unit of the Public Relations Society of India.

Fond farewell

District Public Relations Officer Ch. Venkatramudu retired from service on Monday. Deputy Director of I and PR Ch. Johnson felicitated Mr. Venkatramudu at a function organised on the department premises. Mr. Johnson and other speakers hailed the services of Mr. Venkatramudu.
