RRB, Bangalore, conducts examination online

    BANGALORE: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Bangalore, has successfully conducted an on-line examination to recruit eight junior engineers for South Western Railway (SWR) here on Sunday.

    The examination results, which in usual course would have taken at least three months, were made available immediately, and the selected candidates were empanelled against the vacancies on Monday after verification of records, said an official release from the RRB.

    RV College of Engineering on Mysore Road played the host for the examination wherein 319 candidates took up the examination while technical support was extended by Access Automation Private Limited, Bangalore.

    Besides, the RV College also provided the network support.

    RRB, Bangalore, has actively been involved in integration of information technology in the examination process for recruitment to the Railways.

    The client server-based on-line test administration software was developed and implemented under the direction of RRB, Bangalore Chairman S.T. Meshram, the release said.

    The first on-line examination was conducted for the selection of Section Engineers on September 11, 2005 at BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore.
