BANGALORE: Three persons, including an advocate, were robbed of three gold chains, a mobile phone and cash in as many incidents in the city on Wednesday. The police said that around 8.45 p.m. advocate Sharanabasappa Patil was walking towards the Cubbon Park to attend a party at the Century Club. On nearing the City Civil Court Complex on Old Post Office Road, three men waylaid him and robbed him of his mobile phone and Rs. 600 in cash. On a complaint by Patil, the Ulsoor Gate police have registered a case. In another incident, three men robbed a woman of her two gold chains, together estimated at Rs. 50,000, at knifepoint in Vidyaranyapura police station limits. The police said the incident occurred around 7.30 p.m. while Prabhavathi (26), a resident of 4th Block, Doddabommasandra, was walking near her house consoling her baby, which was crying. The robbers held Prabhavathi by her neck, threatened her with a knife and snatched her gold chains, the police said. The Vidyaranyapura police have registered a case. Investigation is on. In the other incident reported from Kamakshipalya police station limits, around 8 p.m. a man snatched a gold chain valued at Rs. 20,000 from Mahalakshmi (23), a private company employee. After finishing her work, Mahalakshmi was walking towards the Sunkadakatte bus stand to catch a bus to her house in Hegganahalli when the incident occurred, the police said. The Kamakshipalya police have registered a case. Investigation is on.
Burglary
Burglars struck at a shop at K. Narayanapura Cross in Hennur police station limits on Wednesday and made away with cash and mobile phone currency. According to a complaint filed by the proprietor of the shop, K.S. Gopal Reddy, the burglars entered the shop by breaking open the rolling shutters. The Hennur police have registered a case. Investigation is on.
