Child's screams lead neighbours to bodies

HYDERABAD: Three of a family were found murdered in a house at Weaker Section Colony in Medchal on the outskirts of city on Sunday. Two other family members, including the wife of one of the victims, were found with injuries.

Though the horrifying incident occurred at midnight on Friday, it came to light only on Sunday after neighbours repeatedly heard the screams of a two-year-old baby even as foul smell emanated from the house.

They peeped through the window only to find three bodies in the house and immediately alerted the police.

The police rushed to the spot and found baby Chinni crying near the bodies of her father P. Rammohan Reddy (40), sister Bhavani (14) and brother Sainath Reddy (7). Child's mother Jyothi Reddy and uncle Madhusudhan Reddy were injured.

Chit fund business

Rammohan, who runs a grocery shop from his house, did not open the shop on Saturday. Milk sachets were lying in front of the house.

Rammohan used to run a chit fund business besides looking after his shop. Jyothi was his second wife.

The police, quoting Jyothi and Madhusudhan, said three persons forcibly entered the house and attacked them with a pestle. But the police said there were several discrepancies in descriptions given by Jyothi and Madhusudhan.
