BANGALORE: The Department of Commerce of Bangalore University has introduced a new self-financing postgraduate course Master of International Business from the academic year 2006-07. The course is designed to meet the growing needs of multinational companies in India and abroad. The pedagogy of the course will be a blend of lectures, group discussions, seminars, case studies, problem solving, visits to MNCs and guest lectures. "The whole exercise will be a participative learning process," according to the university Vice-Chancellor H.A. Ranganath. Any candidate who has passed the bachelor or masters degree of Bangalore University or any other recognised university with 50 per cent aggregate marks is eligible for admission. Admission will be based on an entrance test conducted by the Department of Commerce. Marks scored at the test and qualifying examination will be considered for the final selection. The duration of the course will be two academic years divided into four semesters. Prospectus and application forms for the programme are available at the State Bank of Mysore, K.G. Road branch.
