Back Backward area fund gets nod

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for the Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) as well as funding of the existing Rastriya Sam Vikas Yojana (RSVY) on 100 per cent grant basis, the Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, said after the meeting.

The CCEA also approved reintroduction of the 10 per cent rebate scheme on sale of handloom products for three years with a budget provision of Rs 100 crore of which Rs 20 crore would be in the current years and Rs 40 years each in the next two years, the Finance Minister said.
