BANGALORE: A young lad who has come a long way from painting Sachin Tendulkar's bat sponsor's logo on his own bat to be in the same team as his hero, Sreesanth has expressed his gratitude to his local sponsors. In an event organised by Muthoot Pappachan Group from Kerala to announce Sreesanth as their brand ambassador here, he said, "I am proud to represent the Muthoot Group for all their support to nurturing cricketing talent in Kerala." The connection between Sreesanth and the Muthoot Group goes back a few years. The Muthoot Group patronises Ernakulam Cricket Club for which Sreesanth played. But the association continued even after he became an international player. The group also announced their new corporate philosophy, `A Duty to Deliver,' on the occasion. It plans to feature Sreesanth in their future commercial campaigns. Thomas Muthoot, director, Muthoot Pappachan Group, said, "We are expanding our horizons in various sectors such as finance, infrastructure, wind energy and hospitality. We are sure that Sreesanth's image, for his speed, determination and consistency, will reflect our corporate values for thrust on delivery." The group, which is spread over South India and parts of Maharashtra, has plans to invest Rs. 210 crore for expansion in the infrastructure and hospitality sectors in the country.
