The Central Hindi Directorate's Department of Correspondence Courses has invited applications for a certificate course in Hindi (Preliminary) and a diploma course in Hindi (subsequent to the certificate course). The course is open to Indians whose mother tongue is not Hindi and to foreigners who are at least 15 years old as on July 1, 2006. In the case of children of Indian nationals residing abroad, the age limit is 10 years, irrespective of their mother tongue. The diploma course is subsequent to the certificate course. Though the sessions commenced on July 1, the last date for submission of application forms along with the prescribed fee has been extended up to August 31. Applications have to be sent to The Deputy Director, Department of Correspondence Courses, Central Hindi Directorate, West Block 7, RK Puram, New Delhi-110066.
