Bangalore: One person died on the spot while another sustained serious injuries when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus knocked down the motorcycle they were riding on near Kenchanapura Gate on Bangalore-Mysore Highway, late on Monday night. Police said that D.S. Pratap (20), a native of Borenahalli, died on the spot, while Manjunath (23) of Tataramanahalli sustained head injuries. Manjunath has been admitted to K.R. Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Houses burgled
Thieves broke into two houses in Vidyaranyapura police station limits. According to police, burglars broke into the houses of Patrappa and Basavaraju, both BEL employees. Patrappa and Basavaraju left for their hometowns on August 13. Their neighbours noticed the doors broken open and informed the police on Monday.
Raided
The Whitefield and Kadugodi police conducted a raid on a live band joint at Anugondanahalli, Hoskote taluk, in the early hours of August 13 and arrested 25 persons. The police said that Veerabhadrappa was running a live band joint at his farmhouse in Anugondanahalli. The police seized nine cars, four mobile phones, Rs. 3,200 in cash and electronic equipment. The arrested have been remanded in judicial custody.
Arrested
Police arrested Mohan alias Mohan Raju, who allegedly took away a mobile phone, 176 gm of gold and cash from the residence of Devashikhamani on Race Course Road on Saturday.
