Three held on theft charge

The city police on Thursday arrested three persons on the charge of theft in APSRTC buses. Mohammed Feroz, 28, Mohammed Chand, 21, and K. Gopi, 25, all residents of Mallepally were nabbed while trying to dispose of stolen gold ornaments at Siddiam Bazaar. The gang had recently stolen gold jewellery weighing 48 tolas from a goldsmith.

Woman commits suicide

A 24-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at her house in Chandanagar on Wednesday.

The police said B. Padma ended her life, as she was unable to bear the alleged dowry harassment by her in-laws. However, Padma's parents -- Narasimha and Balamani -- alleged that her in-laws strangled her to death when she refused to bring dowry.

Succumbs to injuries

A woman, who suffered grievous injuries after she was knocked down by a RTC bus at Ghatkesar on August 2, died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday.

M. Sultana, 40, of Kurmaguda in Madannapet was crossing the road when the bus came from rear and hit her resulting in serious head injuries, the police said.

Man ends life

A 45-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself at his house at Bhoudhanagar in Chikkadpally on Wednesday.

According to the police, A. Balraj committed suicide after a quarrel with his wife over a trivial issue.
