Man falls to death from Aayakar Bhavan

HYDERABAD: A Senior Tax Assistant of the Income Tax Department died after he fell from the ninth-floor of Aayakar Bhavan at L.B. Stadium in Basheerbagh on Thursday. Police suspect it is a case of suicide.

V. Mallikarjun, 40, a resident of income tax employees' quarters in Banjara Hills, went to his colleague's house in the same locality in the morning and handed over the office keys stating he was on leave. But he came to the office at 3 p.m., signed in the attendance register and went to the ninth floor of the building from where he fell, the police said.

According to the police, Mallikarjun might have ended his life, as he was unable to grapple with the depression he was suffering since the death of his father V.S.R. Chandramurthy in May.
