The debate continues

The ruling party is certainly feeling the heat with the land acquisition for Outer Ring Road project hotting up.

It is not only the criticism of other political parties that the Congress Government has to face, but also that of its own MLAs M. Sashidhar Reddy and P. Janardhan Reddy. The duo has been criticising the mode of land acquisition for the project and the compensation proposed.

The issue has touched a chord in every person. If farmers lament that their livelihood is being snatched away, middle and higher income groups are sore that they cannot even dream of owning a house site anywhere in the city thanks to astronomical prices following HUDA auctions. Even as the Government assured it will work out a formula to benefit land losers, the controversy rules.
